Matt Haskell is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Labor and Employment practices.  He represents companies in the transportation, communication, life sciences and healthcare industries, as well as small businesses and governmental entities in employment, personal injury, construction, and civil rights lawsuits and general commercial litigation in both federal and state courts.

In the area of transportation law, Matt defends railroads in federal and state court claims, including FELA, FLSA, Title VII and Federal Railway Safety Act claims.  He has defended actions pertaining to emergency response and accident investigations, wrongful death and catastrophic injury, product/premises liability and toxic torts, as well as railroad right-of-way and property matters, among many others. He also advises clients in accident investigations in preparation for ensuing litigation.

Matt also focuses his practice in trade secrets and unfair competition, helping companies, from international corporations to sole partnerships, assert and defend their rights. He also represents numerous businesses and individuals in personal injury defense and other commercial disputes.

Matt is a certified Rule 31 mediator. He mediates disputes both in and prior to litigation, particularly in the areas of personal injury, construction, civil rights, employment, and business litigation. Matt has also represented parties on both side of disputes in many mediations, and he understands the dynamics necessary for each party to be heard and find resolution.
