Best Lawyers® has released the 16th edition of the United States Best Law Firms® rankings. For the 2026 Best Law Firms rankings, GSRM Law ranked in Nashville’s “Tier 1” for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law; Civil Litigation; Commercial Litigation; Employment Law – Management; Family Law; Litigation – Bankruptcy; Litigation – Labor & Employment; Real Estate Law; Tax Law; and Trusts & Estates Law. Ranked firms, presented in tiers, are listed on a national and/or metropolitan scale. Receiving a tier designation reflects a high level of respect a firm has earned among other leading lawyers and clients in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism and their integrity.
Fourteen GSRM Law attorneys were selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2026. Sixty-seven percent of the firm’s partners are listed in Best Lawyers. Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Best Lawyers has earned the respect of the profession, the media and the public as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals. They are reviewed by their peers based on professional expertise and undergo an authentication process to make sure they are in current practice and in good standing.
Six lawyers from GSRM Law were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch awards recognize extraordinary lawyers who have been in private practice for less than 10 years in the United States. Like traditional Best Lawyers awards, a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch recognition is based entirely on peer review.
Billy Blackstone was recently recognized by Best Lawyers as the 2026 “Lawyer of the Year” for Trusts and Estates in Nashville. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this a significant and coveted accolade. These lawyers are selected based on particularly impressive voting averages received during the peer review assessments.
Ten GSRM Law attorneys were named to Mid-South Super Lawyers in 2025. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys. Also in 2025, one GSRM Law attorney was named to Mid-South Rising Stars.
Marlene Eskind Moses and Marissa Moses Russ were named to the 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading U.S. Family Lawyers. Attorneys are selected through a process that includes submissions; journalistic research; and vetting by peers, clients and others knowledgeable in this area. These are the lawyers who can help you hold on when times seem they can’t get worse, and to protect children, families and assets that can easily be damaged often beyond repair in the hands of less wise counsel.
