William C. Scales, Jr.

Member

William counsels businesses and individuals through all phases of real estate litigation, construction litigation, and business litigation. His experience includes numerous bench and jury trials, arbitration proceedings, and state court appeals. His current representations concern real property disputes ranging from troubled real estate transactions to landlord/tenant disputes, government zoning and code compliance for governmental entities and property owners, and construction litigation for contractors and property owners related to defective construction, mechanic’s liens, and licensing issues. In addition to business litigation-related business partner and contract disputes, William also provides outside general counsel functions for businesses, including contract drafting and pre-litigation advice.

Before entering the civil practice of law, William served in the United States Army, first as an officer in a Patriot Missile battery and then as his battalion’s S-2 Security Officer. Prior to joining GSRM Law, William practiced at a state-wide firm in Nashville, Tennessee and a full-service law firm in Des Moines, Iowa.
