M. Suzanne Hartness Chief Operating Officer

 

Overview

Suzanne serves as GSRM Law’s Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for the business strategy and operational oversight at the firm. She manages all support functions including finance, human resource management, information technology, business development and marketing, as well as legal staff and attorney recruitment.

She joined GSRM Law in 2016 following 25 years in the professional services and document services industries at Xerox Corporation and Ricoh USA.  She is experienced in the areas of business consulting, strategic planning, operations management, human resources, business development, and client service. This experience facilitates operational efficiencies, enhances client relationships, increases profitability and creates a collaborative, team-based environment for employees.

During her tenure in the document services industry, she led teams in pursuit of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award – the only Presidential award for performance excellence – which was awarded to Xerox in 1989 and Xerox Business Services in 1997. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and is pursuing her Green Belt certification in Legal Six Sigma.

Currently, Suzanne serves as President of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of Legal Administrators (MTALA) having served as Vice President in 2018-2019. In these roles, she is involved in the ongoing educational requirements of the chapter. She also is a member of Downtown Nashville Kiwanis Club.

She is active in the Nashville community serving as Reservations Committee Co-Chair for the Eve of Janus which benefits the Tri Delta Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She also participates in fund raising events for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Nashville Safe Haven Family Shelter, and the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home.
