Grayson Smith Cannon

Grayson Smith Cannon is a Nashville attorney in the Estate Planning and Probate Section. She primarily focuses her practice on estate administration and probate, conservatorships and guardianships, family law (especially with regard to division of retirement assets in divorce such as QDROs), Social Security disability as well as various business and collection matters. Prior to joining GSRM Law as an estate planning and probate attorney in Nashville, she was an attorney at Phillips & Ingrum in Gallatin, Tennessee for eight years. Grayson also served as Managing Attorney for Cannon & Cannon law firm in Goodlettsville, Tennessee for 23 years. While at Cannon & Cannon, she was involved in the general civil practice of law. Grayson also worked as an attorney at Haynes & Cannon for three years prior to forming Cannon & Cannon with her husband, who is now retired from the practice of law.

Grayson, who is a 1979 graduate of Hendersonville High School, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes College in 1983 and Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Nashville School of Law in 1988. She was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1988.

Grayson ranked third in her class at Nashville School of Law, was a member of Cooper’s Inn Honor Society, and graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rhodes College. She served as President of the local Chamber of Commerce while practicing in Goodlettsville, as well as President of the Goodlettsville Lions Club, and was active in a number of civic organizations. Grayson is a frequent continuing legal education lecturer on family law, probate and Social Security and is a member of several bar associations and legal professional groups. In her spare time, she is an avid runner and cyclist, having completed some 20 full marathons, numerous half-marathons and several cycling centuries.
