Flynne M. Dowdy Associate

 

Overview

Flynne is a member of the firm’s Litigation section. She focuses her practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, personal injury defense, governmental liability, breach of contract, and real estate. Flynne is an experienced trial lawyer and former Harris County Assistant District Attorney. As a prosecutor, Flynne tried numerous felony and misdemeanor jury trials and was responsible for supervising and training junior prosecutors.

After graduating from Bishop Dunne Catholic School in Dallas, Texas, Flynne moved to Washington D.C. to attend Howard University. In 2011, Flynne graduated with honors from the School of Communications with a B.A. in Journalism and minor in Political Science.

While attending the University of Miami School of Law, Flynne received the Dean’s Honor Scholarship and James Weldon Johnson/Robert H. Waters Summer Institute “Best Overall Student” award. Flynne worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Marcia G. Cooke in the Southern District of Florida, certified legal intern at the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney, and certified legal intern at the University of Miami Children and Youth Law Clinic. Flynne also received the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for earning the highest grade in her legal research and writing skills course and was a member of the Dean’s List.

After graduating a semester early from law school, Flynne moved to Houston, Texas where she began her career at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. While there, she prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies punishable by life in prison. Prior to joining GSRM, Flynne practiced at the law firm of Chepenik Trushin, LLP in the litigation section.
